At a ceremony last month at NSW Parliament House, hosted by the Minister for Finance and Employee Relations the Hon. Damien Tudehope, O’Connell Managing Partner Graham Evans was presented with Life Membership of the Industrial Relations Society of NSW for his long period of service to the profession. The ceremony took place with President John Counter also announcing former Fair Work Commission Deputy President Anna Booth as the incoming Patron of the Society.
In presenting the Life Membership plaque, Society President John Counter cited a number of the important contributions Graham had made over his time as a Committee Member of the Society. These included:
- Role of Society President 2013-2014
- National Committee member with Australian Labour & Employment Relations Association (ALERA) 2013-2020
- Initiator and Convenor of Practitioner Twilight events from 2003
- Speaker at numerous Society events
Also inducted with Life Memberships on 25
November were Professor Ron Callus, Professor Braham Dabscheck, former President of the NSW Industrial Relations Court + Commission, Lance Wright KC and Professor Marian Baird.
